Only one more week left to go before we wrap up the One Room Challenge! If you've been following along, you know that I'm remodeling my tween daughter's bedroom but if you're just tuning in, you can catch up here:
Week 1: The "Before"
Week 2: We Have Paint!
This week I finished the transformation of my daughter's flat closet doors - new molding, hinges, pulls, and paint has these previously ugly doors looking fresh and chic:
And I'm making some progress on the upholstered headboard - after lots of searching for fabric, I'm going with this Target window panel:
It is a great shade of white, has a nice texture, and is large enough that I won't need to do any seaming to use it on the headboard. And did I mention that it's cheap?
And the piece of MDF that I'm using as the base for the headboard is all cut and ready to go:
Once I get the headboard done, I'll be moving on to creating the canopy - I'm hoping to incorporate this cool decorative fabric ribbon that I found at TJ Maxx:
That's it for me this week! We have a revolving door of friends and family visiting over the next week so some of the things I have planned for the room (the gallery wall over the chest of drawers, the fun project with the purses, and a new chandy) aren't going to happen until after my ORC room reveal next week. While I'd love to be 100% done with the space by the reveal date, friends and family trump over decorating :) Even with a few projects left to do, I think the room will make for a good "before" and "after" - we'll have to see next Thursday!
Don't forget to check out what's going on with everyone else participating in the ORC by going {here} and {here}. I'll see you back here tomorrow with my favorite link-ups from April's Best of the Nest link party - there are some fabulous ones!
