It's Turning Into a Zoo Around Here...

Hi all - how was your weekend? Our girls were off for Spring Break last week so we headed back to our old hometown of Cincinnati for the week and had the best time visiting with family and friends. Other than doing some IKEA shopping for the makeover of my daughter's bedroom, I haven't accomplished a single thing in the past week and a half but that's what being on break is all about, right?!

Now I'm itching to jump back into finishing up some of the many partially finished projects around here, including our home office. I'm still stalled on choosing drapes but I'm going to at least get everything back on the bookcase shelves and looking more finished than it does right now. In addition to having built-in bookcases in our home office, our house has them in the family room and upstairs landing and while we've got plenty of books to fill them, we've run short on bookends. Lucky for me, a few weeks ago I stumbled upon the coolest pair of wood antelope bookends at our local thrift store. Love them!:
I don't know what it is with me and animal decorations lately (my elephant obsession is still going strong...) but I'm loving all of the animal bookends that are in the stores right now - they're such a great way to add a bit of whimsy to bookshelves. Some of my faves are Anthropologie's Victorian Whale Bookends,

Urban Outfitters' Rhino Bookends,

and CB2's Gold Pig Bookends:

But the vintage finds are my favorite - love all of these Etsy finds:
{LaRoux Vintage}
{VintageDiaries}
{MidCenturyMary}
{Salt & Ginger}

Aren't they fun? If only it was that easy to find drapes that I love to finish off the space... I'm going to be in NYC a few times in the next couple of weeks and am planning to hit the Garment District in hopes of finding some inexpensive drapery fabric. Would love to hear from any of you that have NYC fabric stores to recommend!
