Around the House (and the Giveaway Winners)

There's been a lot going on around the house this week, want to see? I finished up painting our office, ceiling and all:  

and hung our new light (source {here}). It has totally changed the feel of our space and I love how much light it puts out compared to our old fixture. 

I'm waiting a few days since painting the built-ins to add the hardware but I finally found a pull (actually a knob) for the desk drawer - Anthropologie's Hawthorne Knob. It's one of my new favorites - it would be so gorgeous on kitchen cabinetry. 

If you're an Instagram follower, you know that I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a cowhide for the office - it arrived and is beautiful. Can't wait to see it in its new home!

And since the home office is finally getting put back together, you know what that means, right? Time to tear up another space! So happy to see this dingy yellow wallpaper in our foyer go bye-bye: 
And so thankful for the hours of time my in-laws put into helping me remove it, inch by painful inch.

Moving on to the living room, after going back and forth about what to do with my fireplace tile (thanks so much for all of your input BTW - I can't tell you how helpful it was), I've decided to replace it. I would love to install a marble slab fireplace surround but after pricing it out, I found it was out of our budget. So I've picked up some marble options from Home Depot that I'm playing around with and will be doing some more looking around later this week:

And finally, after bringing home a bunch of laminate samples from Home Depot, I ordered a case of this Pergo Grey Yew laminate for a little DIY project that I've cooked up:
I haven't paid any attention to the laminate options in years and was really surprised to find how many nice looking, reasonably priced options are out there.
