The Little Things that Show Love in a Big Way

Happy Valentine's Day! Sending lots of love your way today along with many, many thanks for all of the help and advice that you shared about my latest decorating dilemma. You guys are the sweetest and smartest blog friends a girl could ask for!

Valentine's Day isn't a big to-do in our house. No over-the-top gifts and only a few small decorations around the house. I didn't even get around to blinging out our dining room table for Valentine's dinner - I kept it super simple:
But we do a lot of little things that are more meaningful than the big grand gestures anyway. When our girls woke up and opened their bedroom doors this morning, they found that their doors were decorated with fourteen hearts, each of which has one of the many things we love about them written on it (from mom, dad, and (of course) our dog):

And in their bathroom, they were greeted by some more Valentine's love courtesy of a tube of bright red lipstick:

For breakfast, we had heart-shaped Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, which are as easy as unrolling each roll and rolling it back in the shape of a heart (instructions {here}):

And Valentine's Day wouldn't be Valentine's Day without a few little treats:

Add a no-kids night out for dinner later in the weekend and that about wraps up our Valentine's celebration. Oh - and one more thing we've got to add in - lots and lots of snow shoveling. We got pounded with snow over the past day and a half, how about you?
