How to Join a Link Party Even if You Don't Have a Blog

Only two more days until the first Best of the Nest link party! Jennifer, Pam, Lisa, and I can't wait to see what you've all been up to this month. We have some amazingly talented blogger friends but we also know that our non-blogger readers have some mad DIY and design skills of their own so we want to make sure that everyone has a way to join the party!

If you don't have a blog but you do have a Pinterest page, there's an easy way for you to join in on the fun of any link party. Here's how:

Take a picture of the work you'd like to link up and download it to your computer. Log into your Pinterest account and click on the red "+" sign on the upper left of your home page. Select "Upload a Pin" from the drop-down menu.

A pop-up window will open - click "Choose Image", which will open up your computer's file directory. Find and select the image that you want to upload by double clicking on it.

Once your image is uploaded, a "Pick a board" box will pop up. Select the Pinterest board that you'd like to pin your image to and write a description about what you did. Bragging is encouraged :)  Then click on the bottom right "Pin It" button to pin it to your board.

Go to your newly pinned image and click on it - your image will enlarge to fill the screen. Copy the url for your image:

Now go to the link party you'd like to join - different link parties use different link tools but they all basically ask for the same info - the url of your link, a title, and your email address. The box to type your link in is where you'll paste the url that you just copied:
Most link tools also give you the option of cropping your own image or auto cropping it (letting the link tool crop it for you). It's always best to crop your own image. Select that option and then click "From Web", which will pull up the Pinterest image that you linked. Select and crop your image.
Congratulations! You've entered the link party!

But wait. What if you have an amazing tutorial or a "before" and "after" that you'd like to link up and a single image isn't going to cut it? Easy. You can link to an entire Pinterest board. Simply create a new board (select that option from the drop-down menu under the red "+") and give it a name. Then upload as many images as you'd like to that board. Once you're done, copy the url of the Pinterest board and paste this into the link tool to join the link party.
Now the link party hosts and anyone else who clicks on your party link will be taken to your Pinterest board where they can look through each one of your images and see just how amazing your project is!

So go get some pictures of your latest project taken and get ready to link up - see you on Friday!
