When we were back in Cincinnati over the holidays catching up with friends, everyone asked us how we like it in Connecticut now that we've been living here over six months. It's a hard question to give a quick answer to because there's so many thing that we like better about Cincinnati but there's probably an equal number of things that we like better about Connecticut. Connecticut is an absolutely beautiful place to live,

and this gorgeous Wood and Resin Hexagon Tray:
but much of the rest of the collection too stark modern for my taste like these decorative wall studs - no thanks...:
On the other hand, Target's Threshold line has a new White and Natural Decor Collection that is 100% up my alley:

Jute Foot Stool,
Woven Cotton and Jute Bench,
Color Block Round Woven Basket,
and Cream and Gold Tufted Bench (love!):
There were also a few Threshold items from other collections scattered around the home department, including this Threshold Suzani Pillow,
these Threshold Fretwork Border Window Panels (which have been available for a while now but I still love):
and this beautiful colored glass collection:
I was also loving this Fieldcrest Luxury Oblong Decorative Pillow in gray velvet,
these fun decorative storage boxes,
and this group of colorful French Bull Appliances which I had read about months ago but had never seen in the store:
And of course the Target HotSpot has some cute stuff for Valentines' Day already!
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen that I also hit the junior's section and found the cutest textured knit dress in kelly green (it's so much cuter in person than in the pic!):
While I'm in love with that shade of green, sadly it didn't love me back when I tried it on but this textured knit dress in navy did (again, sooo much cuter in person!):
On the way home from Target, I made stops at Goodwill and the ReStore hoping I could for once score a find half as awesome as the one Melanie of The Painted Chandelier posted on Instagram a few days ago. She paid only $29 for this navy wingback beauty with nailheads - can you believe it?:
No such luck for me - the only half decent piece of furniture at Goodwill was a brass side table that was crooked, had broken glass in one corner, and was way overpriced at $35. I didn't find anything that I was looking for at the ReStore either but I wish that I had a place for this china cabinet that I saw there:
It reminded me of Jennifer's old dining room china cabinet that she transformed into this green beauty:
(Check out the before and after pics of it on her blog {here} and the rest of Jennifer's gorgeous dining room {here})
I'm looking forward to this weekend and the much warmer weather that's coming our way. We're supposed to get into the 50's which is going to seem like bathing suit weather after living through the frigid temperatures that we've had this past week. Our weekend is pretty full but I'm hoping to find time to get some paint samples on the wall so I can choose the wall color for our home office. I've narrowed it down to three of the blacks and charcoal gray paint options that I posted about earlier this week plus two that you all had recommended. Who knew that there were so many shades of black? See you next week!
