Country Living's Holiday Bazaar

For months I've been seeing ads for Country Living's Holiday Bazaar and thinking about how lucky all of those people living near Tarrytown, NY are to be able to go.

Sooo have I ever told you that I have no sense of direction whatsoever and that I'm completely geography-impaired? That may explain why it took me until yesterday to realize that I live less than an hour away from Tarrytown. In my defense, we just moved here five months ago - that makes it a little less pathetic, right?! Pathetic or not, off I went. The bazaar was held on the grounds of the Lyndhurst Mansion:

inside a series of heated tents:

As with all fairs, it was a mixed bag of amazingness and tackiness but luckily this bazaar was at least a 80/20 split - there were some gorgeously decked-out spaces:

and some very talented craftsmen - I loved these bags made out of vintage grain sacks,

these painted windows,

and of course I'm always a sucker for a good pillow:

I picked up a few holiday decorating ideas while shopping around - my iPhone pic doesn't do it justice but this rustic cart filled with vintage Christmas ornaments was gorgeous:

as was this decorated mantel:

Want an easy idea for decorating your front porch? It can be as simple as some pinecones and greenery in a galvanized tub:

And you know my post about decorating with skates and sleds? There were several vendors selling them at the bazaar:

So what did I bring home with me? I was such a good girl. My biggest purchase was five of these tin cups. I have no idea how I'm going to use them but they were dirt cheap and I'll figure something out. Maybe I'll fill them with greenery and hang them somewhere as holiday decorations?? We'll see:

I also bought a few of these 75 cent feathers:

at a shop that had so many creative ideas for displaying them:

The Country Living Bazaar continues through the rest of the weekend. You can find more info {here} if you're thinking about making the trip. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
