The Great Pumpkin Stencil Debate

We're enjoying a beautiful fall weekend in Connecticut - changing leaves, chilly mornings, and roadside stands filled with pumpkins!
It's the time of year when my husband gets working on his annual pumpkin carving. It's become a bit of a family tradition. For the past two years our girls have picked out their favorite pumpkin carving stencils and my husband, master pumpkin carver, gets to work. Our dog-loving daughters first had him carve a Boston terrier:
followed by last year's pug:
but this year I think they're branching out to something different. It's a topic of hot debate. If the choice were mine, I'd have him carve a large pumpkin with a tall, curvy script monogram:
{Martha Stewart}
But mom has no say on this one. The top contenders from our girls are currently a Toy Story Alien Pumpkin Carving:
{Spoonful}
because they love these little three-eyeballed guys:

or the Despicable Me minions:
{Ultimate Pumpkin Stencils}
because my youngest daughter is obsessed with Dave:
There are loads of free pumpkin carving stencils online including some really, really cool ones. And they actually aren't as hard to do as they look. Which is easy for me to say, since I'm not the one doing the carving :-)

If you're looking to create your own stenciled masterpiece, a good starting point is a post I did last year with over 400 free pumpkin carving patterns that you can find {here}

I'll keep you posted on the carving masterpiece that's coming out of our house this year. The pressure is on Mr. Driven by Décor....
